The Associate of Biblical Exposition program requires sixty (60) semester hours to complete. The program focuses exclusively upon exposition of key Bible books by closely examining the English text of the King James Bible. Although focus will be given to what the text says, the program will also focus upon what the text means and what the text means to the modern Christian. All programs within the School of Practical Ministry, including the Associate of Biblical Exposition, are research based and do not include audio/video lectures. The program is ideal for students who have no or limited access to the internet.
The Bachelor of Theology is the final two years of the student’s undergraduate study. Students may receive advanced standing in the program through transfer credits, and in instances where the student is well-qualified, through lifetime credits. The program prepares the student for all FTS master’s programs.
The Th.B. program consists of training in a diverse core curriculum that focuses upon developing the student’s general Bible knowledge and upon developing the student’s training in key areas of ministry. The major courses center upon developing the student’s skill in specialized areas of ministry service.
The Bachelor of Theology program is an advance-at-your-own-pace program. Most students will complete the program in less than two years. Students are required to maintain a 2.00 GPA to advance into the FTS graduate programs. Upon completion of the Th.B. program, the student is eligible to enroll directly into the FTS graduate programs.

Our Doctor of Philosophy graduate program is based on the European university model of “research degrees” which are entirely research-based, rather than course-based. The Ph.D. degree is awarded on the basis of substantial original research; the Ph.D. has a prerequisite of an MA degree (or its equivalent) and requires the student to write a 125-page dissertation (36 credits) on a topic centered on the students selected concentration.
The dissertation only does not apply to the Ph.D. in Clinical Christian Counseling or the Ph.D. in Clinical Pastoral Counseling. The Ph.D. in Clinical Christian Counseling and the Clinical Pastoral Counseling Degree Program (Ph.D.) is designed to give the student an advanced background in Christian Counseling and incorporates the programs which will allow for National Christian Counseling Association (NCCA) certification or licensure. The program is 36 semester hours in length. The purchase of books are required for the Doctor of Philosophy in Clinical Christian Counseling and the Doctor of Philosophy in Clinical Pastoral Counseling.
Credit Hours: 36

A Ph.D. by publication is a postgraduate research degree that’s based on research you’ve already undertaken and had published before enrolling with FTS.
Peer-reviewed academic papers, complete books or chapters in anthologies, and any other materials accepted for publication, exhibited or performed are all eligible. You’ll have to submit these materials for examination after enrolling with FTS.
These materials will be accompanied by a commentary of 5,000-10,000 words, which outlines your work’s coherence, significance and contribution to knowledge, and you’ll be examined through an oral defense of your research. Applicants must hold a Masters or Doctorate degree from a bible college or seminary in order to qualify for this program.
